Peppermint Mocha Creamer

Everyone knows I love my coffee. I mean, LOVE. One of my favorite holiday drinks is the Peppermint Black & White Mocha at Starbucks but I make most of my coffee at home now, which is why I decided to try making my own creamer.

This was my first attempt at making a peppermint mocha creamer and it turned out pretty decent. I think it would’ve been a lot better if I used whole milk instead of the 2% I had at home.

I’ll be trying out other recipes after the holidays and will share them here.

Peppermint Mocha (Recipe originally found at Deliciously Organic)

1 Cup whole milk

1 Cup heavy creamer

4 tablespoons maple syrup

3 tablespoons cocoa

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

Whisk together milk, cream, maple syrup and cocoa in a saucepan over medium heat. When it begins to steam, remove from heat and mix in peppermint extract. Strain through a fine mesh sieve (if you don’t want the cocoa floating in your creamer/coffee), pour in glass bottle & store in refrigerator.

I think you could probably change up the measurements of the cocoa depending on your preference. I was fine with the 3 tablespoons but could see someone putting in a little extra for the flavor. I prefer the peppermint over the cocoa.

Enjoy!
