You Know That I Could Use Somebody

Weekend bullet points:

**Um, I love traveling by train. Seriously. Can I do it all the time?
**Didn’t take my laptop with me so couldn’t write on the train. But read and slept a lot.
**Good old Rocky Mount, NC (But she lives in Greenville) and my bestie Jackie!! It was as if I just saw her yesterday…
**But I hadn’t so we spent all night talking and catching up.
**And went to see the Time Traveler’s Wife…Jackie hadn’t read the book but she will now! (Review to come later)

**Love her apt, love her dog, love HER!

**Sat morning, the forecast said Scattered T-Storms but I convinced her we should drive to the beach anyway.
**Funky van in front of Starbucks.

**More talking and catching up.
**The weather turned out to be PERFECT!
**Wait…who’s that singing “Careless Whispers”? (Turns out it’s Seether!)
**Good times at the beach…loved the calm waters…even more talking and catching up.

**Jackie’s bf offered to make us dinner…Chicken parm and apple-pineapple pie. Yum!
**We wanted to go dancing…Realized we haven’t officially had a drink together since we turned 21 so we HAD to do that.
**Drinks in NC ARE SO DAMN CHEAP! Seriously. I wanna move there.
**Obnoxious, stupid bartender who was actually really cute…Such a shame that she was an idiot.
**Jackie got buzzed…So friggin hilarious.
**We went to this bar called Tank…uh, tanked is what it did…so we went across the street…You’ll never believe what it was called…

**Jackie and I danced like we owned that place…Did not let a single guy dance with us…One guy actually asked us if we were lesbians which was hilarious considering we weren’t the only two girls in the place NOT grinding up on each other. (Read: We can actually dance)…Danced till 2…

**I somehow managed to drop my phone in the toilet…FML
**Sang at the top of our lungs on the drive back…I finally got the big deal about Britney’s song “If you seek Amy” (Yes, I now know it’s not written that way, hence the controversy and I seriously love that song now)
**Stopped at Sheetz…I got a grilled cheese samwich and fries (Where the fuck did my diet go?) and Jackie got a pretzel with nacho cheese.
**More singing at the top of our lungs.
**Time to drive back and say goodbye 🙁

It was such an amazing weekend…I was very tempted to stay and hide out from the world. I can’t express how glad I am to have reconnected with Jackie…it’s as if a part of me was missing all these years.

I’m also going to have to go back for a week and just take pictures…So many gorgeous sites…so little time. To see some of the pix I took, you can go here.

I also did a lot of thinking (Esp after a convo I had Thursday night) and came to a lot of realizations…May or may not share…but my life is gonna change.

How was your weekend? I am SO jealous of everyone that went to the NYC Meetup…I hear my ears should’ve been ringing because some people *coughMaxiecoughJaimecoughJohn* couldn’t stop talking about my boobs!

♥ to everyone!

  1. My weekend was almost as fun. I somehow got a 36″ wide couch through a 30″ wide door down 30″ wide stairs and through another 30″ wide door to my new room in the basement. Then we repeated with the chair.

I then spent the remainder of the weekend in the chair.
    .-= Mike´s last blog ..Buildup =-.

  2. Glad you had fun. I spent mine dealing with a motorcycle accident. I blogged the accident, but not the fall-out.

    1. I know. I wanted to take more pictures but people were looking at me like I was crazy

    1. Yeah, I got tweets and texts from Maxie, John and Jaime…lol

I felt giddy that you guys were thinking of me 🙂

      1. yes, it would have been the best if you were there and I got to meet you. Next time though! I’m glad you had fun in NC!! 🙂

  3. I’m glad you had a great time. My weekend was pretty boring. I spent Saturday shopping for J’s bridal shower stuff. I couldn’t find any TMNT stuff anywhere, so I ended up ordering stuff on line. I made my first Fondant Iced cake. It was okay, but I will keep practicing.

Self evaluating your life and making much needed changes are always a good thing *hugs*

      1. Yep and of course your are invited. My mom is planning on painting herself green for it. LMAO

        1. (that was supposed to say you are invited, but the mistype shouldn’t surprise you. LMAO)

    1. I know right? I <3 that song…and the Seether cover is even better.

    1. Oh my god, the drinks! I had to seriously ask twice everytime I paid for a drink to make sure I heard right.

  4. Okay okay, I should’ve just kept reading before I commented on the last blog because now I know where in NC you were. Ha.

I refuse to go see “The Time Traveler’s Wife” until I read it. I feel this absolute need to read the book first.
