Bring on the Holiday Cards

We’re getting close to the end of 2016, which can only mean one thing for some of you: It’s time to mail out those holiday cards! I don’t know about you but I still think there’s something special about getting physical mail and covering my fridge with cards from my friends and family who are scattered across the globe.

Of course, holiday cards aren’t the only thing that warrant creative invitations. My fridge is full of wedding invitations, birth announcements, and “thank you” cards reminding me of special occasions and memories.

Unless you’re super creative and a pro at Photoshop, designing cards that perfectly capture your personality and the mood of your special event can feel like a chore. Most of the websites out there that offer services to create invitations have awesome templates but they each have some kind of restriction. Maybe they have limited colors – or they don’t allow you to request samples before you put in a large order.

Enter Basic Invite.

I’m very picky about the products and companies I talk about on my personal blog so when the awesome folks at Basic Invite reached out to me, I hesitated. Until I checked out their website, their awesome products, and even their blog! Here are a few things that stood out to me, and why I agreed to talk about them on my blog:

  • Highly customizable: For every card you create, you have the option to customize the colors. If you’re a highly creative person, or indecisive like me, this could come in handy. This way, you’re not restricted to an all or nothing color scheme for your announcements, wedding invitations, or holiday cards.

  • Don’t forget the envelopes: Your invitations should stand out before they’re even opened, which is why Basic Invite offers 40 different colors of envelopes. Oh, and rest that tongue of yours. All of the envelopes are peel & seal.
  • Try before you commit: Sure, that awesome card you created looks amazing on screen but how will it feel? How will the color translate on paper? Will you love it? Well, don’t order a pack of with those questions on your mind. Order a printed sample to be delivered to you to make sure all of the details are perfect before you place your order.
  • It doesn’t end with the invite: One of the things I noticed on the website is the “Printables” section, which piqued my curiosity. The folks at Basic Invite know that the details matter at events. Their wedding-related printables range from “Wedding Planners” to “Hashtag Signs”. That’s not all – for you new parents out there, they even have “Monthly Stickers” for those adorable pictures you take. Oh, and let’s not forget their section of free printables. That’s right. I said free.

I don’t know what 2017 has in story for you. Maybe you’re getting ready to send out those “Save the Dates“, or there’s a birth announcement you can’t wait to see on your great aunt’s fridge. Whatever the occasion, I would recommend you check out Basic Invite and their awesome selection.
