Well, my lovely Perpstu interviewed me and I figure it’s about time I answered her questions…
Q: You’ve been in the United States for 10 years. Why did your family choose to emigrate?
A: Well, public education is not free in Turkey and my parents wanted me and my brother to get the best opportunities that we could…Since my mom’s older sister had been living here for a few years already, they suggested that we move here…and here we are.
Q: What do you eat when you order Chinese food?
A: Chicken fried rice and Kung Pao…Yum…Now I’m hungry!!
Q: If you could revisit one day in the first 15 years of your life, which day would it be?
A: Wow…That’s a tough question. I think it’d have to be the day my brother was born…One of the best days of my life.
Q: You’re a young girl living in a big city. Do you like it or would you prefer to live somewhere smaller and quieter?
A: Oh I am TOTALLY a city girl. I love the big city…I cannot stand too much quiet. I have to be able to walk out of my door and be surrounded with life.
Q: I’m coming to visit you – for 24 hours – what are we going to do in that limited time frame?
A: We are going to start by having breakfast on the waterfront in DC…walk around the monuments for a few hours and visit any of the site you want to see in the city. Then when we are done in DC, we’ll go to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore for dinner and drinks on the water (Can you tell I love the waterfront of any city?) Naturally, we’ll take lots and lots of pictures and we’ll end the 24 hours back at my place, having a girly night in till you have to leave.
