Happy Tuesday lovely people. I regret to tell you that there will be no Heroes recap tonight simply because I was too exhausted to watch it last night. I’ll try to do a comprehensive recap next week. I want to thank my lovely Jaime for doing an awesome job on the Monday post in my place yesterday. The ladies of PQ Nation are incredibly supportive of me, my new job and this website so I know that even though I’ll be less around the next couple of weeks, the Nation is in good hands and you will be provided with excellent reading everyday.
On the days that I do not post, I’m open to guest bloggers on the main page besides the ladies of PQ Nation (Pecosa, Phoenix, Linda & Library Girl, you will all get your turns of course). If you want to have a blog on the PQ Nation, let me, Jaime or Wicked know and we’ll make that happen.
Now of course…On to the main reason for this blog…
Yesterday was my first day at this job. It was definitely a crazy day in a very good way. Instead of going on and on like I usually do, I’ll try to highlight the day…
~ Naturally, I got here waaaaaaaaaay too early and was lucky enough to get here at the same time as one of my new coworkers, J. He let me in, gave me a really quick tour and then we saw that G (Big Boss #2) was here so J left me with him. G gave me a more extensive tour and introduced me to whoever was in the office. And then, I finally found P (HR) who I was supposed to meet with at 8:30.
~ Here’s how the rest of my morning went: I found out that they made a very extensive schedule for me for the next two weeks, P talked about the history of the company, the benefits, policies, etc for…oh, a good hour and half. And then E (The girl previously in my position) took me under her wing and gave me yet another tour of the place now that everyone was here. 33-34 people…I will probably only remember 28 people’s names. The last office only had 9 people… As I finally sat down to take a breather, the friggin FIRE ALARM went off. So down we go, 7 flights of stairs (me in 4 inch heels). What a way to start the day.
~3 of my bosses and E took me to lunch at McCormick’s. That was pretty neat. I got a pretty good idea of the personalities of who I’ll be working with on a daily basis and I gotta say, I’m not complaining.
~Oh, the ladies room def has a mad stock of tampons and pads, lotions and hand sanitizers. Score!
~The afternoon was spent with more meetings, more training, more forms..blah blah.
By 5:00 I was pooped. I met up with P as a follow up and then headed home. Before I went home, I stopped by my old office because I forgot my glasses (Genius). Barry asked me if I changed my mind…LMAO…Yeah, not so much. Naturally traffic was horrible. Can I just say how much I HATE buses and cabs in DC? The next two weeks up to December are going to be a blur but a good blur.
Wicked asked me yesterday if I was happy with my decision. That’s a big honking YES! 🙂
